Dear Terrific Third Graders,

My name is Miss Ozdonski (or Miss Oz) and I am so excited to be your teacher this year!!!! We are going on a great adventure and will becoming smarter and more independent with all of the hard work we will be accomplishing! I cannot wait to get to know you and for you to make lots of new friends this year! I have been working very hard to prepare an amazing year for you and your classmates.

I hope you had a great summer with lots of reading and relaxation. The first week of school will be a week of learning about each other, our routines, and having fun. I want all of you to make sure you eat a healthy breakfast every morning and make sure to bring a healthy snack and lunch every day. This is will help our brains stay strong. Our lunch will begin at 1:00 pm so make sure to bring a filling snack for the beginning of the say!

Try your best to bring in all of your supplies on the first day of school.

Please, bring in a book to read, it could be a book you are reading or your favorite book. It could also be a book that you want to read!

I have one more item I would like you to bring on the first day of school, Thursday, September 6th, 2018. I would like you to bring in something that is special to you to share with your new class. This item should be something that will help us get to know you better. You will be sharing it with your classmates.

Examples of things you can bring in:

*a favorite book

*a stuffed animal

*a special photograph

*a special souvenir

*a piece of something that you are collecting

*something you have made

Important: Please do not bring in electronics (video games, etc.), breakable items and/or any live pets.

During our “Morning Meetings” over the first few days of school, we will begin to share these items with one another; I will be bringing in something to share too! Be sure to choose your item carefully. It must be something that will help us learn about you. After you have chosen your item, place it in a paper bag (or plastic) and put your name on it. Then bring it on the first day of school. I will have a place for you to put your item when you enter the classroom. I can’t wait to see what you bring in!

This year is going to be filled with fun, learning, and growing. I cannot wait to meet all of you. Make sure to bring in your supplies, a book, a healthy snack and lunch, and your special item. Don’t forget a smile! Enjoy the rest of your summer break and I will see you September 6th, 2018!
