The Art program at Millstone River School gives students an opportunity for self-expression, creativity, growth and personal enjoyment. Three art teachers staff the program at Millstone River School. We work to develop each student’s visual awareness and art skills while teaching specific art techniques and art theory.

Students may be working with a wide variety of materials and tools such as- oil and chalk pastel, watercolor paint, tempera paint, ink, colored pencils, markers, crayons, clay, scratchboard, aluminum and construction paper.

It is our goal that students develop an awareness and appreciation of art in the world around them. Many art projects will include art history lessons or will introduce students to art of other cultures.

Towards the end of the school year students get to show off their beautiful works of art in the annual art exhibit, which is on display for our “Evening of Eagle Excellence”. Student artwork will also be on display throughout the community in places such as the Board of Education office, The Plainsboro and West Windsor Libraries and the Plainsboro Municipal Building.

It is our sincere wish that each and every student will love art this year, while they learn and create works of art that will be cherished for years to come!
